Started with rust and bodywork, thought I'd start at the easy end.

Drivers side wing came off nice and easy

No rust, lots of old stone chip, sealer, flakey paint, etc.

Wing is pretty straight, more rubbish stone chip, sealer, paint on the inside.

Obviously a later wing was fitted at some point and had the indicator hole plated over

Only bit of rust that needs sorting

The plan is to clean back all the old sealer, stone chip and crappy paint, new coat of stonechip and paint body colour.

Big dent in the valance, don't think I'll be fixing it, I just want to get rid of the rust but leave all the patina.

Passenger wing was a different story altogether. There was sealer/adhesive everywhere, up to an inch thick in places.

A trip up to Stevens VW Dismantlers and I have a nice second hand wing to use for repairs, not bad for £40

Dropped the wings off to a friend to get welded up and started on the inner wings. Started with a pressure wash, followed by several goes with de-greaser and a lot of scraping.
