Also, if you need spares for the Pierburg, Gower and Lee are very good and can get hold of pretty much anything you might need:

I'm in Bedford if you need a hand (or possibly some spare parts - although most of mine are still in Birmingham at the moment), too.

Cheers... I spotted their recommendation (I believe it was yours) on here and looked at their website yesterday. I may well need their services. Thanks for the offer, it's much appreciated! :-D I may well need to take you up at some point! Heading off to get some sun (and tequila) for a couple of weeks now so I'll attack it with a not so clear head when I get back.

Hi I'm Jason ex-pat living in Melbourne,I currently have a 1980 storm, daily driver, imported 1983 all original apart from color, previous owner resprayed it in blue, which I plan to restore to original Super rare car in OZ as they never sold Scirocco's here.
First car show event was a huge VW meet in Coventry in the early 80's been a VW fan ever since.
First car back in 1987 was a black mk1 golf full Zender body kit quad square headlights, also had a gold mk1 Scirocco gls
Just joined the site today, tried to attach a photo of the storm from my pc but it said file is too big, checked the FAQ's but still haven't figured out how to post pic's. Anyway I guess that's a question for a different area of this site.

Hello All.

Thought id make an official entry to the club. I believe we were as a family members of the old group back in the 90's when we first had the joy of owning our first scirocco gtx. It was in arctic silver with omega style alloys as they were known in those days. Unfortunately i was too young to drive and circumstances lead to it being sold. I have since been through one other when i was a teen ( a right shed..) and currently own two lovely gtx's. One i found by chance is only one previous owner and showroom like condition in silver with contrasting black kit (too good to drive even) and my pride and joy which is in jade green, i recently purchased from jimmytdi (Jim) from the club.. Thanks once again Jim!

Im hoping to come down to atleast on of the meets this year, would love to see what everyone has done with theres and get some tips on tuning sprayers and the rest.. Have managed to acquire some bits over the last year, some surplus, will put them up here once ive managed to sort through the lot.

Hi guys not long joined up, picked up a scirocco gtx today from "everlust" and as far as projects go I was very surprised it got me home the 100 mile trip without a single fault! Needs a little work then MOT but excited to get her on the road. As I say it's a little project with 150k on so trying to do things properly, it blows a little bit of blue smoke on acceleration so will be stripping the engine down and replacing the rings and all gaskets/head skim whilst it's all apart. From kettering and hoping there will be some localish meets to attend when she's back on the road. Anyway here she is (here's hoping the pictures work)

Welcome MattRocco,
150,000 miles and the engine is just run in, there's one Scirocco on here that's just go to 500,000 miles...
We always like to see another project on the go so start a thread on the projects and restoration section and keep up updated on what you are upto.

Hi All,

Just picked up my first scirocco today, a blue MK2 1990 GT. I've owned countless VW's over the years including two MK1 Golf Cabrios which I still own. The GT is a going to be a bit of a rolling project for me to drive and work on as a change from driving the company car all the time as I'm not going to be driving either of the golfs any time soon as they need far too much work before getting on the road!

The GT has got 129k on the clock and appears to run fine with MOT thought till May next year, although I think the brakes need fluid change and bleeding and a look at all pads, drums, cylinders and discs as the pedal kept going soft on the drive home. Other than the brakes it just needs a few small rust patches sorting although nothing major and I need to source a set of centre caps for the 14" Le Castellets that its rolling on.

Here's a couple of pics:

Hi all

Completely new to the scene. Originally wanted a golf but my researching lead me to the wonderful car
That this site is dedicated to. So now trying to save for my first rocco whilst also buying my first house.
The house is winning at the moment. But want to have a rocco by the summer.
Great site and great people on it hope to meet some of you though out the year.
