These are actually the same vehicle. It is more than a bit ghastly to look at, but a lot of work and skill went into making it, and it actually doesn't have much Scirocco in it. IIRC it's a Mk1 Caddy with an aircooled bus welded to the back of it, plus a couple of spare Scirocco body panels. It did, at one time, have a watercooled engine in the front, and an aircooled engine in the back, with both of them working to propel the vehicle.
The same guy also built the purple Mk2 Scirocco convertible you may have seen photos of.
