That's a good price is that for your a Abf conversion? Will keep that it mind for when it needs replacing although it has to be red to match the rest of my engine

Haha.

Lovely great what you have done here great work. Not far from were we live were Castle combe race circuit there is a workshop garage there and on display there is a mk 1 Golf G.T.I with a Audi engine in it which the owner put in.He told me he has kept the metering head which is the same in a mk 2 dx engine in for the engine conversion.

Thanks for the comments g beats.
Finally got her running properly in March, Bill from Badger 5 in Gloucester found the problem within half an hour of me being their... pesky fuel pump issue causing a lean miss fire, had it tested by a previous company who thought it was fine

, never mind! While i was their i thought i might as well stick it on the rolling road for a bit of fun! Managed 185bhp which i was pretty happy with.

magic build , love it , this side of the world we went with aftermarket ecu and ditched the air flow meter , just running on map sensor
like the wheels , fitted a set of 17 in the same style to mine with 205/40/17 rubber

Thought I would list the majority of the parts I used in the conversion to help those thinking of doing the same:
1.8t agu engine
02j gearbox
Gear selector and changer to suit box
Epetec 1.8t engine and 02j gearbox mount for a1 chassis
Vw golf mk1 / scirocco gear box mount rubber insert 64.4mm p/n 171199214d
Vw golf mk1 / scirocco engine mount rubber insert 74.6mm p/n 171199214g
Vw golf mk1 / scirocco rear gear box mount rubber p/n 171399151a
Vw golf mk2 16v cambelt tensioner p/n 051109243
Audi A3 / vw golf mk4 standard cambelt and waterpump
Ribbed auxiliary belt 6pk 923 (p/s removed)
Vw golf mk1 1.8t conversion 100mm driveshafts (eBay)
Vw golf mk2 1.3 83-91 accelerator cable
Vw golf mk2 1.05 / 1.3 1200mm speedo cable p/n 192957803
Vw golf mk1 / scirocco black oil pressure switch (low) p/n 056919081ba271
Vw golf mk1 / scirocco white oil pressure switch (high) p/n 056919081ea305
Vw golf mk3 4 pin coolant sensor (black) p/n 357919501a or 6u0919501b
Bkr7e spark plugs re gapped to .028
ECU remap to 190bhp (185bhp on rolling road)
Front mount intercooler
Various intercooler silicone/alloy pipes/reducers and t-bolt clamps
1.8t coolant header
Vw scirocco mk2 radiator
Slim line fan (12" I think)
Various water silicone pipes / reducers and stainless clamps
Honda S2000 air filter and silicone reducer (83mm to 70mm I think)
Oil catch can with 19mm inlet / outlets (PCV delete)
Oil resistant 1 X 19mm plastic 90 degree and t- piece and 19mm braided pipe (PCV delete)
19mm oil / air crank filter (PCV delete)
Custom built 2.5" exhaust which used 4 X 90 degree bends and 2m straight length
Free flow back box
High pressure fuel pump and lift pump if originally on carbs and swirl pot (I used 1.8t pump/swirl pot and modified Rocco tank)
This list doesn't include all the wiring conversion parts, brake conversion parts and upgraded fuel lines to the 1.8t (8mm) listed earlier on in the thread. Engine was also heavily serviced with 5w 40 oil, oil filter, fuel filter, spark plugs, cambelt, aux belt, coil packs, battery and even a new sump as it was leaking slightly.
Probable forgotten something but hope that helps!

Gear lever and selector cables to suit gearbox.
In tank lift pump if originally a carbed car.
High pressure fuel pump.
Swirl pot (not needed but recommended)
Other that that that looks like a pretty comprehensive list.
Ben.

Cheers ben, thought I was forgetting something! Will update it. Been asked by a few people now for lists of parts so thought I would just list them for ease.

Been having a good read of this, nice work. Love the intercooler pipework, so neat and tidy. What it drive like in a Rocco? I'm doing this conversion in mine. Don't want it be a flying machine just nice power curve for road use

very nice ant , read from the start , enjoyed the pick of the drivers side mount mod as i am running the jetta 4 apk ( same block ) and very informative thx,
did order epytec mounts , drivers side and modded front but our post this side is slow so still not here after 4 weeks,
going to run a local aftermarket ecu ( have fitted over a 100 of these things already ) but we dont use the maf sensor , we run a map sensor and we have got the standard throttle body with its idle control to work well and so far so good , but love the build really looks good ,
actually have the same wheels on mine

Thanks for the comments. It drives great, the Rocco handles the power really nicely, sticks to the road well and it really shifts. Took alot of parts to get the intercooler to sit right but was well worth it!
