Know all about that! By the way, if you do decide you want a new mount I might be selling the one I got from Crazy Quiffs as flagged up by ianaudia4.

I bought it for Project Poppy, but with the engine nicked it looks like I ain't going to be needing it.

Anyway, good luck with the work.

:beers:

Right, fair few bits done in past few weeks. Unfortunatly waiting on parts before I can fit the engine.

So heres the new rad with refurb'd cowling and fan...

Image

Image

Still got a bit of glue from the masking tape, wipe over with white spirit and jobs a good 'un!

Gearbox went from this...

Image

Image

To this, took forever!

Image

Starter motor received plenty of wire brush action...

Image

And painted...

Image

Same for mounting brackets, only after pictures I'm afraid...

Image

Heres how the bay looks, found loads of cavity wax under the muck, don't wanna disturb that TBF...

Image

Pin striped the bumpers, unsure on it so far, will look way better when the bumpers get some dressing applied...

Image

And my problem on how to fuel the car solved...

More soon!

And, its in, well most of it! Change in direction regarding cylinder head meant I couldn't put a complete engine in. It does however look like this...

Image

Scratched my gearbox mount tho getting it in, could have cried!

However, stoked. :good:

Have a week off soon, and after a trip up to Shottingham on monday, real progress will be made.

Oh and I forgot, smoothed off the number plate plinth and painted the front tow eye red. Not 100% happy with the finish so may come back to it at some point...

Not much real progress made so far, am waiting on some parts again. Hurry up Royal Mail!

Anywho, some pics to keep the thread going. First, the rad in place with correct fan sticker :geek:

Image

Placed a load of dome nuts on exposed threads in the bay, just to keep it tidy. Random awful phone pic...

Image

A close up of my Hella blue spotted lights, Golf boys will understand...

Image

And the Exhaust manifold painted...

Image

Have done the downpipe in black, paint was drying. Also the spacer plate in red. Will take the carb off the inlet while watching England tonight and get that painted ASAP.

Wooo! Week off work, lets get the old girl running by friday!

Today, I fitted the 16v master cylinder and servo. Fiddly, filthy job it was too. Just need to bend a few lines into position and thread them on. Will do in the morning.

Old one off...

Image

Side by side....

Image

Fitted....

Just waiting on some unions for my fuel pump really, no excuses. Should be ready by the weekend. Lets do this! :training:
