Also having problems with the alarm again, going off whenever it feels like it, it did this last year and then sorted itself out .. no idea why

Travelled to Bham today 222 miles on 21.69 litres = approximately 46 mpg!

A few issues however:

Passenger door card has started to rattle, probably just needs re-fitting
Speedo went from 122k to 123k to 124k during the journey!

Something not right there, although Im sure its just the cars way of telling me to get the digifiz sorted!

Your speedo problem could be the cable, they do corrode on the inside, good thing is new ones are only about £15 and an easy fix.

Wow its been ages since I did any updates in here!

To be honest, I'm not sure what I've missed but in the recent past I've had an interesting development.

Some weeks ago my speedo decided to start adding extra 1000's of miles to itself. I quickly went from 122k - 129k.

However this wasnt such an issue as the trip still worked and I've always kept a record of how many miles I've travelled everytime I fill up.

But on my way back from the national meet, I filled up, reset the trip and it stuck there at 0. So now neither are moving anywhere..

The MFA miles still go up but because the MFA has always had a mind of its own, I cant reset it whenever I want to (without removing the fuse)

All this means I do need to get my digifiz project off the ground soon ..

In other news, got my insurance down to £505 with footman james thanks to a top tip from Sean and the club discount!

Yes I know I'm sad, but as my odometer has stopped working I needed to do some calculations anyway.

Well lets start with the fact my whole family has a little book in each car and each time we fill up we record

Next I took all those figures and produced the following ..

Right well I went out to change my smashed indicator and repair the bracket.

Replacing the lens would have been easy enough. However the bracket on the other hand.. It took a few hours to try and bend it back into a reasonable shape.

Unfortunately its not perfect but its better than it was! I will have to keep a look out for a new bracket.

I also fixed the full beam not working on the pass side (blown fuse).

Battery ran flat this week as I hadnt driven Wildrider for approximately 10 days and the alarm had gone off a few times.

So I've bought myself one of these:




Battery Disconnect Switch with in line fuse which doubles as a battery drain prevention device (while keeping your clock / memory for the radio) and also an anti-theft device as trying to start the car without it will blow the fuse and switch off all the power..

Don't have one, but been meaning to buy them for all of my cars - would save me having to get the spanners out every time I park them up (or forgetting/being too lazy and having 2 cars with flat batteries like I do at the moment).
