yeah starting problem was cured by new plugs, and i cleaned up the dissy cap as the seal leaks a bit of oil into it. but that'll all be going anyway when megajolt comes along ;)

a polo G40 is sommet id deffo have a hard time considering, love those little things.

Iv got my g up for sale at the min, put it up cheap to get some funds for the right car. Just change the seal, megajolt good, but its a bit of mission to get set up.

yeah seen the ad mate, looks very nice!

the problem is at the minute its not using the TPS and only running off vacuum advance on the standard dissy. i know i'd get a much better spark and better timed spark with the megajolt. doesnt seem too hard either, and a few mates have the set up on their valvers round here so i can steal their knowledge lol.

plans for her next though:

megajolt
better inlet manifold
tune carbs properly

aiming for 160hp at the fly as my target. only 20 up on standard, but throttle response is super lairy compared to the k-jet.

Should have gone abf with carbs, prob be looking at 180 - 190 bhp quite easily. You thinking of keeping it then? or you unsure? Get it on a rolling road and it prob run a lot better. Megajolt quite expensive as well though isn't from what i remember. Would be better in the end though i suppose.

I'll just say this.

Im looking at a 3.9l rover V8 on carbs, a 2wd R380 gearbox from an SD1 an escort/cortina rear axle and my scirocco. :mafia:

if this happens, it will be ridiculously f'king awesome! and dangerous. but mostly awesome...i think. :pilot:

picked up a bonnet in great condition the other day.

will be a shame to sand it back and re-spray it as the paint is in very good condition, but i dont fancy a blue bonnet! i'll hopefully get to work on this over the weekend, very excited to start getting the rocco looking reasonable again!

this means i'll have my current black bonnet available if anyone is interested? if not i'll cut out a load of the strengthening beams and the whole centre section, replacing it with a sheet of aluminium. always wanted a lightweight bonnet haha.

cleaned and ready for more rubbing down, shame to "ruin" such a good condition bonnet really, this pic is taken after a quick going over with 600 grit and a rinse.

first coat of primer

base coat of white

after a cheap gold coat on top of the white to help with the top coats colour, i applied the final layers of top coat, some crap fell onto the bonnet just after i finished spraying though! luckily it pulled out, and with a quick sand and blow over it looked good.

i'll fit it tonight and check it for colour match, hopefully its okay :)
