looking good pal. funnily enough the 20vt has the golf 1.3 cable too. didnt realise untill i checked the paperwork that came with the car.
ideas on time/date wise on getting her running ? nationals is quickly creeping up !!!

hoping that a few more full days on it and itll be ready to start, then its a case of setting it up and testing

got a feeling im going to need a different starter and possibly alt to connect to the loom

bit more progress with thanks to scrappy who swung round and helped out

did one top mount and we jacked the back up and got the rest of the exhasut fitted

still chipping away at this, got some clearance issues at the mo

it all looks ok

dizzy fouls, should be able to rotate it but there are only 2 positions to bolt it in

had to use a flat brake res cap as the induction arm sits on it and the coolent hose wants to go through it at the mo

been a complex build so far using a combo of parts

abf engine
abf 45° dizzy
dx fly, cluch and gearbox
16v inlet and supports
16v induction arm
abf throttle body, 16v cable holder
golf 1.3 throttle cable
dx airbox
abf isv
16v injectors and lines
16v loom ecu and knock box
16v knock sensor
16v lambda sensor
scirocco abf 421 manifold and exhaust
polo g40 master cylinder vacuum pipe
polo cl oil breather hose


all this because i wanted the engine to look natural in the bay and not hacked in. no idea on what sort of power it will produce

fitted this also, really tight fit. atleast vw had the sense to make it from a flexible plastic

Petrol tank out, discovered when doing the exhaust that the tank leaks from the lip. New ones not in yet, need to foam the top and will probanly paint the heat shield now i have time. No nationals this year

This was from a few weeks back, pulled it out to clear the garage or scrap

Not got the mew tank in yet, that'll have to wait a while. Need to swap the suspension over too then adjust camber and tracking
