right so ive removed a lot of mechanical gubbins including the gearchange mechanism which was blacker than the ace of spades with years of grime rot and oil stuck to it.
my granddad recommended this stuff

you wouldnt believe how potent that patio cleaner is!
Image

look at the state of the fluid, but it brought up all the parts lovely and clean.

look how clean the nut and washers are!!

word of warning though make sure all parts cleaned in this stuff is painted asap or soaked in oil as this patio cleaner removes all protection and most of the parts i cleaned started to rust by the following day.

lastly I put the wings back on. the drivers one went on a dream, however the passenger one was a pita.
im not sure if it was me welding the wing back up or the body is a little bent on the front end but i couldn't get that wing to go on properly.
I ended up pulling it about and eventually got it too fit. :ire: may have used a bit of brute force
the top of the wing fits OK but at the bottom it seemed like the wing needs to be a bit longer. :dunno:

oh yeah the patio cleaner is very very strong stuff, i was using it outdoors, but even so certain things i put in there actually started fizzing and making all sorts of weird and not wonderfull smells. cleans well though, and diluted down really gets the floors clean!

ive now painted the car in primer and because this is the first time i have ever sprayed a car i have made a few cock ups!
1- i forgot to roll the rear arches before painting :dash: knew i forgot something!
2- dont ever use incompatible paint or glues before checking it will work with your primer. like a donut i used some stonechip paint and it caused the primer to crack and a silicon glue on the roof which it also doesnt like.
3- double check you have rubbed EVERYTHING down and prepared for paint. i forgot to remove the sealant on the lower part of the drivers door

i suppose that will teach me not to rush things.

Nice bikes.
You can get a barrier paint to stop the paints reacting http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1Litre-BARCOA ... 3641.l6368

the tomos is helariously good fun, 10mph uphill and 40mph downhill on bmx tyres.
has a horn that sounds exactly like a duck (quaaaaak) only has 2780miles on it having been sat in a garage ever since 1991 till i got it in 2001.
dont know how but seems to run on almost anything for a very very long time.
