That's what I was going to do, saves the bother and they have excellent support.
Also, think Craig has a complete Emerald kit for sale for reasonable money.
Looking for to seeing it fella.
Qpeng looks like a really good option though expensive as you say!

That red Rocco is really nicely done.
Just to say been lurking following this thread, and love what you're doing to your Scala.
Great effort and engineering so far.
I'll be really interested to see how it turns out with the 20vt.

Are you going to run it with or without the kit? I think metallic black looks great on the body kitted cars. Mars red looks great on the non-bodykit cars.

Re: HERMAN THE GERMAN! '91 Black Scala 20vt in the making
started stripping the engine down ready for spraying.
I'm in two minds whether I will make up the 3 mounts needed or bite the bullet and get the £200 set off eBay. I'm not worried about making em it's just whether or not I can position the engine in the right place.
but some good progress.. it looks so bright!!

Awesome!
i bought caddy shack mounts and they are pretty good for the money.Considered doing my own, but went with these to know it was all going to sit in the right place.
keep up the good work!

Re: HERMAN THE GERMAN! '91 Black Scala 20vt in the making
cheers man. i reckon if I can copy an A1 1.8t D/S mount then the engine should sit in a good enough position to make up the other two. I need to borrow a mount off someone for a day though! If anyone had one I could borrow I would be eternally grateful and it'd be worth some beers for sure :)
Well the car is pretty much done for paint now, which is f-ing awesome! Just gotta paint the bonnet, there's definitely no rush for that though as I'll need an open engine bay for quite some time.
Here's Herman. He actually has proper things that real cars have, like windows and door handles! I know, it's amazing isn't it.
I like this photo because you can't see how ridiculously high the suspension is, and it almost looks like a finished car. Looks can be very deceiving, they are in this case haha. I've got f-ing loads to do!!!
started cleaning and degreasing the engine, the plan was to have it painted today however some numpty broke our steam cleaner so I can't clean it :(. It'd take forever to get in the nooks and crannies. I also smashed up the edge of where a coolant pipe goes in by accident today as you can see near the oil cooler. Darn it.
more bad news. one part of the exhaust manifold is cracked.
and there is a crack in the other part of the manifold where the down pipe bolts on.
Plus there's some play in the turbo. I don't know too much about this though, i can wiggle the centre back and forth, is this ok or not!!?
So I couldn't get anything sprayed. Except the inlet manifold, which is the wrong colour I think, needs to be more silvery and less grey. This is after I had to do a 50 mile round trip to buy paint this morning because the local halfords are rubbish. Aaargh!
So not a good day really! Hopefully tomorrow will be better.
