I'll sell you mine in a few months :)Cpt Custom wrote:As a follow on, I couldn't resist a quick fiddle with Paint Shop Pro especially as I'd already been thinking a set of black/polished rims would look good on her. This is an old photo taken before I took off the vinyl on the B-pillars and swapped the side repeaters back to the originals, but you get the idea ...Cpt Custom wrote:^^^^^ ^^^^^ Love those fifteen52 snowflakes! Re: Show us your Mk2 - picture thread.......
Recently got myself back in the fold. I had an 85 GTX from 1988 until 2003 (I was the second owner), regretted selling it ever since.
Does anyone knwo where C381 NDP is (Flash Silver GTX) ? I sold it to Dave Perkins in Bristol. I used to find pictures of it on t'internet at various VW shows - but not seen it for a while. Curiously if I do a search on the reg. at DVLA (for road tax) it no-longer shows up - so it must have gone onto a private plate.
Anyway, mid-Feb, looking on ebay & spotted an 87 GTX, been laid up in a garage since 2005 (owner sadly passed away) - 96k miles.
Bid on it & won it - then wondered how I was going to get it home !
My son tightening up the straps at a service area.
I can recommend the transporter hire - £95 for the day, all in.
Needs a bit or work doing, they had put it through an MOT before listing it & I have the fail sheet.
Nothing too hard though; front wishbones 'severely' coroded, broken front spring, one of rear brakes not working, handbrake in-effective.
Looking forwrd to driving one again !

Welcome to the Register Al ... nice to see you on here.
I saw some photos of your car at DubShed which Jim posted and was well impressed. Can you give me some more info on the wheel tyre combo e.g. style, size, profile etc?

its good to finally get on here!! lol , them wheels are dotz muchilago's 195, 45, 16's but i have 30mm spacers on rear wheels coz rocco/s rears always sit in to far, fitted coil overs which are great but had to raise up more than previous because the wheels rubbed when turning tight, took alot of fiddling but eventually it all good. fitted 2.5inch jettex twin which i regret as virtually impossible to avoid knocking underneath, just fitted a scirocco storm leather interior the other day which i was glad to get a hold of! engine is all standard really just stripped and rebuilt/cleaned, this is my daily driver so hard to keep engine clean!!
