Cheers for all the comments. :D
There's a package waiting at the post office for me - but I have a feeling it's from Amazon and not the states - we'll see tomorrow.
I've got a busy week next week, so probably won't have time to sort anything more out anyway...
EDIT - The seals have arrived

The glass is now all in - but there are a few issues re the new seals.
I've got to get it back up to the bodyshop for a morning to see whether they can be resolved while he messes around with some spare chome trim.
But for now - the Storm is tucked up tight

So the trim is all back on.
Unfortunately the cables on the passenger wing mirror were damaged when is was refitted...so I'm after a new one.
Took the car down to The Phirm on Monday to see if they could cure the electrical problem that was getting worse in the dash.
Of course they could.
Tim showed me where the printed circuit board had burnt out (which was the earth).
He re-wired it, and cleaned up a few of the other 'furry' bits behind the clock, replaced loads of the dash bulbs - and now everything is loads brighter, and working!
They also got the rear hatch popper fitted for me, fixed a small oil leak, checked over the front wiper mech (which has always been lazy).
I also asked them to reduce the throw between gears (front to back) as I knew I had a quick-shift fitted, but thought it should be a bit shorter.
Lastly had a quick tune up.
Things to sort before Ultimate Dubs are a new waterpump, replace a splitting water hose, shorten the bolts slightly for the rear passenger wheel, give it a good clean and it'll probably get MoT'd as well.
(infact it's been booked back in at The Phirm for a week today).

You're getting lazy Ryan! You could save yourself a few quid and do this stuff yourself. Car's looking good tho :yup:

I've always been lazy!
I resigned myself to paying someone else to work on my cars for me a long time ago.
It's a combination of having no time/confidence/skill to do the job.
Still, I'm pleased with the results
Update - swapped front washer bottle with the old one from the rear (no longer needed, and fitted a new length of hose).
I'm hoping the motor from the rear will last me a while yet

Well the new MoT was no problem.
Tim at the Phirm also tidied up a bit more of the dash wiring - mainly the stereo, and also the brake pedal switch.
Momo wheel is also back on (but can I find the right horn push for it??? ).
New throttle cable has made an improvement to the jumpiness when in traffic.
They also sorted out a splitting water hose - but it looks like a new hose kit is on the cards...
I also got the wheel bolts shortened for the n/s rear hub.
Fitting the new water pump was a bit of a ballache though...a snapped bolt meant a longer stay, and I ended up getting home about 7.30pm.
(and that's the reason I pay someone else to work on the car!!!). But - it shouldn't leak any more!
So it needs a clean early tomorrow, and I'll be all set for UD
Oh and they reconnected the speedo

Cheers mate.wigit wrote:i thought your car looked stunning at Ultimate Dubs
Well - it's been a summer of mainly non-activity for the Storm.
I've probaly driven it 6 times since Ultimate Dubs, mainly due to lack of time and not being at home!
I finally managed to get a job in Shropshire, and we've been trying hard to get a house sorted out for the start of school term...unsuccessfully as it turned out.
It's all been very frustrating but light is at the end of the tunnel and we should be moving in a few weeks.
We (and the Storm) are being put up at my parents gaff until our house becomes available.
I drove the car up yesterday after finally splashing out on a new battery (it's never been brilliant since I flattened it on a few occasions by leaving the lights on!)
So the Storm is tucked up out of the way and all the feelings of "Why have I got this stupid car anyway..." have disappeared (for the moment).
Tax runs out at the end of the month, so it will probably go into hibernation once moved into it's new garage...
Still need to track down the horn push, and also investigate a weird bleeping when the iPod is in use.
But other than that, it drove faultlessly over a nice cross country route up to the 'shire.
May commute in the old girl if the weather plays ball this week
***EDIT***
Did exactly that today - and look I found a friend!

Re: Ryan’s 1981 Blue Storm – NRB
At last - I'm reunited with the Storm.
After spending way too long at my parents house, she's back with me and in need of a clean first thing tomorrow morning.
Then I'm swapping the stuff in the garages 'round (again ) as I think one is less damp than the other!
Once that's done I've got some exterior bits to swap over and then it's 'just' the bumpers that need some attention.
