More parts I have been cleaning...

I also finished off the rocker cover

And also had a go at porting the throttle body.. you can see there is quite a large flat between the two butterflys, there was also quite abit of a lip around where the gasket was so smoothed all that too. I hope it will give me a little more power thoughout the rev range, and maybe better fuel economy too? but more interested in the power gain tbh :pilot:

Cheers Rusty!

Got myself a gearbox now, again big thanks to Mark for sorting me out with what seems to be a now quite a decent pile of bits.

I have got an issue though, when I took my parts to be powder coated, I didnt realise there was a rubber damper in the Bottom Crank pulley. on closer inspection its melted abit, so just trying to work out if its usable or not still. That pulley is quite an important bit of kit, without it your engine can quite litterally vibrate itself to bits!!

Hopefully I'll get a few bits done over this next week but i'm thinking its going to be spending cash rather than doing real work on the car.

Unfortunately still no major updates yet.. Sourcing new parts tho all the time for the big day when I can put the engine back in!!
New LUK Clutch
Poly Bushes for the Front
Gear Selector Bushes
Gasket Set.
New Hot-Tunning 4-1 Manifold - SEXY stainless steel manifold..

2 weeks till I move house so the big push is on to get that habitable hence the rocco hadnt been touched for a few weeks!! Got a place to store it though so soon its going to be re-homed into a nice spacious barn where I can play to my hearts content in the dry (its july now, i’m expecting we’re going to get rain soon).

Pics will be posted up soon I promise.

I've not fitted it to the car yet so cant say what the fit is like, but quality wise it looks pretty good, All welds etc are fine, and it comes with a exhaust adaptor to attach to the rest of the system. this is the beaster..

Did you spot the side repeaters MrD?

Yes thats the one. I got it from a friend who's plans had changed, not direct from ebay.
Yep side repeaters are behind front wheel, about 1/2 way up the wing.

Must start fixing this car again soon, its been far too long off the road..

Does anybody know what size brake unions are used on roccos, I need to replace the brake lines as some were snapped when the engine came out. Bought a flaring kit from machine mart so would like to have a go at it.

There will be an update over the festive period - promise.
Just getting a few last bits together then the engine is going in.

North side of Preston, going towards Garstang. Will you be going to the meet at Krispy Creme's in Jan that Effy's organising? Can say hi then if your coming down.

I got one of those Hot Tuning manifolds for my conversion and it was terrible, the studs on the head did not line up with the holes on the manifold and when I finally got it on it sat against the steering boot, so much so that it put a hole in the boot and the joint rubbed against the manifold which made the steering really stiff with a lovely grinding noise. It does this as it is designed for left hand drive cars where the steering stuff is on the other side of the car. I went for a dub power one instead which is designed for right hand drive cars, it also comes with a flexi section to connect up to the original exhaust.

Here is a pic of the manifold installed rubbing against the steering boot:

Yeah I read your project thread and you said you'd had issues with it fitting. I am going to see how it lines up and fingers crossed it'll be ok. If not, there is always the option of a DubPower one as you say. they do look better quality, but this was 1/2 the price and is brand new so thought i'd give it a go first...
We'll find out either way in the next couple of weeks when the engine goes back in...

Cant wait to be at a Manchester Meet in this soon!!!

Small update, new alternator, pulley wheels and bracketry sourced so I can get rid of the powersteering, aircon and tensioner setup thats on the engine currently. The tensioner sits majorly close to the chaissis leg i've been told and i wanted to use a multi rib setup over the KR V-type pulleys. So I got a early mk3 golf spring mounted alternator and respective bracket and the water pump pulley to match.

I'm also looking at getting a Megasquirt II ECU with my chirstmas pennies, but this is for the future (to use with the Carbs I bought). Its amazing what you can do with these self mappable ECUs when you get the right. I know a few guys on here are using them (Cookie-101 and MikeH) so I expect i'll be asking alot of questions when the time comes if its ok..
