Our gunson bud. They wander readings wise but it does seem consistent once you learn how to use it.

Yes I use a Gunson and find they are out around 0.5% compared to the MOT test, maybe try it at 3% to see if it runs any better but mixture is the last thing to mess with so make sure the timing is spot on before adjusting the mixture.

When i get a chance i am going to get ours cross referenced against a good mot test unit.

I want a mot tester unit myself one day as they can be unlocked from mot format so to speak and be turned into a analyser.

Apparently the manufacturers charge about £150 to do it so its about finding a old unit for the right money. A local classic specialist did it near me.

I find with this Gunson its best to use it after 10 minutes. If left on it seems to drift ever so slowly down. It always hits 2% on cal around a similar time and if left slowly reduces until you have to adjust.

There accurate within + or -. 25% apparently so id be keen to see how far off it is.

If you have a good local friendly garage they might stick your car on their machine for a bit of beer money if they aren’t busy, works for me sometimes or I wait till MOT time and get the bit of paper with the reading.
