Wow, my mk1 will be tax free in 4 years!! Happy days!...if I still have it that is...

Well got the email and many of you probably have and we the government have responded saying that it will remain at 40 years. However they have said they believe classic cars are part of our heritage. Don't believe that for a moment as they are trying to get us off the road!!

Also seen the email and I'm not surprised.
I've got 14 years before I can claim free tax!

Something else to consider: I've heard of people being asked to prove that their vehicles are stock factory spec when applying to change to Historic tax class from PLG. That's the rule for most of the EU, I think we may be the only EU country which allows mods on Historic vehicles, but for how long?
