To be honest good old household Flash and "magic sponge" worked a treat, it certainly smells a lot more fragrant in there now! :hehe:

Ha ha yeah mine has that fine vintage aroma too! I'll give that a try soon. I've already ripped out the old under carpet wool insulation, that was rank to say the least, and evily holding water in the footwell. Any luck finding a carpet yet?

Finally fitted the final 2 spigot rings to the Jap specs Impuls - not ideal for the wheels to be hanging on the bolts when we finally get it started! :training:

Took the chance to try a few options - a mate's G60 steels...

Like the wheels, but didn't really like the look - think its the colour, looks washed out to me, too similar to body colour? :dunno:

Then onto something altogether more extreme... :vcool:

The car clearly couldn't be driven like this without further work but wasn't far off actually. Spacers are 25mm with 205/40/17 tyres on an 8" rim, so with smaller spacers and lower profile tyre and some arch work it might just work...

How do all these wheels seem to fit perfect on your car? :hehe:

Carb turned out to be a Zenith 2B with Pierburg fuel shut off, now all cleaned up, no major horrors, just need to pick up a new gasket before re fitting later this week... :lazy:

Thanks mate, now ordered the gasket from VW Heritage, so hopefully should be here in a couple of weeks. Got another couple of sets of wheels to try and want to start some more rust analysis and detailed cleaning this week. Really want to get it in for MOT by the end of the month... :dunno:

No real progress on the car as waiting for the gasket from Germany, cleaned it all up again and tucked up back in the garage, carried on trading a few wheels, picked these MIM 1400's 15x7" up but decided not special enough, so sold on yesterday, also got some BBS to clean up this week too... :yup:

Will update with some BBS pics later...

Cleaned up the G60 BBS today, I got them as part of a PX and have decided to let these go too as something better has come along...

Car is still waiting for the gasket from Germany, but at least its tucked up in the garage! :hehe:
