waiting time with the v62 route is 4-6 weeks whereas a current owner replacing a lost book is 3 to 5 days.

hopefully he will find it and it wont come to that but that seems to be the best route if he doesn't.

This looks really tidy, nice original red paint :good: always very rewarding buffing it back.

Would be quite interested to see how it is in the bay and underneath. Think where it sat has been nice and sheltered.

Hope you get the documents sorted out.

My first car was a MK3 Escort, should never had scrapped it. Big regret.

Best of luck with the Scirocco mate

got a bit carried away today.

the scirocco was looking to happy this morning so i decided to chop it up.

i have removed the inner lights the fog lights and fitted a chopped late mk2 golf gti grille.

i think it looks quite good myself and its all reversible i have a bag of bits marked scriroccos old face.

this has been sat around unused since i last posted on here awaiting some use. it turns out my work is very dodgy this year and i feel i need to buy my own work van just to keep some guarantied income source available should the company van be withdrawn.

i now have to sell all my projects so the mk3 golf gti, my escort cabby and the rocco are all up for sale. just wondering how you lot would price this? I've had it on retro rides for a while and had very little interest at what i feel is a fair price.

any input would be greatly appreciated.

Really sorry to read that you're going to have to let this one go as it was such a good story ... would have been nice to see it progress, but given the work situation fully understandable.

As for selling and how much its worth. First, I don't think you should read too much into not selling it through Retro Rides ... much more likely to sell I would think to an enthusiastic like what you'll find on here.

You say you had it advertised at what you feel is a fair price, but you don't say how much that was? The market at the moment isn't that hot as most folks are in the same situation as you and worrying about their job security.

Also, a lot will depend on where you're at with the Tax and MOT? More importantly, did you get the paperwork sorted as I seem to remember you had a problem with this when you bought it?

Maybe if you can answer these questions some of the more experienced members can offer a steer on its likely value, but I don't think it'll be as much as you may be hoping for. And at the end of the day you did only pay £50 for it!

thanks for the reply.
the mot lasts until august and it is currently sorn due to the log book situation. I've spoken to the old boy regularly and this week he's finally bitten the bullet and admitted its well and truly lost so is applying for another one. i can either forward this for the new owner or tell him to hold fire and expect to have a form in the post to sign over ownership via v62 either way he is fine with.

I've had it advertised for 450 which although more than i payed i feel is a reasonable price I've put the mot on it. payed to have it moved about and also polished my knuckles away bringing the paint work up.

would you say thats a fair price? I'm in the middle of writing a for sale add on here as well will see how that goes.

Like I said before there are folks on here better placed than me to put a price on it, but to me that sounds okay. Personally, I don't think you'd get any more than that.

Just found your advert on Retro Rides and, in case you've not been on recently, I see there's a bloke showing some interest.

Anyway, good luck with the sale.

:beers:
