Re: Introduce yourself
Hi everyone. I am back after a year or so out of the Scirocco scene.
My real name is Paul and I am from the North East (Normanby).
I made a big mistake selling my best ever Scirocco to date (the fourth). You can see it here http://gallery.mac.com/the_reamer#10036 ... &view=grid.
Well after time out I am now on the hunt for another. This time for keeps! I may have found one, I am just waiting for more details to arrive and to settle on a price. I will keep you posted.
Someone has been busy on upgrading the forum site. It has a much cleaner refined look. Well done to all those involved.

Re: Introduce yourself
Hi there
Real names Nick,
I bought my first Scirocco half a year ago and haven't looked back. Love it. Its a red '92 GTII, on 16" oz superturismos.
Its my 5th vw and by far the best yet. Apart from maybe my first car, a mars red Derby that I bought with 27K on the clock. Regret selling that one.
would love to put a pic of it up but I'm a bit of a novice, don't get the Img/URL thing?? Anyone help?
Also, i'd like to take it to vw or even scirocco show this year if anyone can tell me the best one to go too?
Cheers! and pleased to meet you.

welcome Nick - have a wander round the 'using the forum' area above this section re the photo thing - you'll need to set up a phtobucket or similar account first.
we are at most of the shows - Ultimate Dubs in Telford in March and GTI Spring Fest, Santapod will be the first of the main gatherings. Also depending on where you are some of us organise local get togethers/convoys to shows etc etc.

Hia. Been lurking on here for a while now, only just got around to joining though. Have a 84 gts:
Should be gaining a set of adjustable coilovers and a set of clean BBS RA's over winter, possibly black powder coated ones, with carbon effect centre caps

Re: Introduce yourself
Hi!
The names John(ny) and I'm from Northern Ireland. I'm the proud owner of a '95 Audi Coupe 2.6V6... heres a few pics:
So... why am I on here posting pics of my Audi?! Well, a mate in work has a lovely Scirocco GTII.. heres a pic from a month or 2 ago:
Its been his pride n joy.... Until this happened at Christmas:
He doesnt have a garage nor the time to do her up. The insurers wanted to Cat C it - but I stepped in and told him to fight for a Cat D. He got it changed to Cat D and got £1400 write off for it. So... rather than see this lovely motor go to the crusher, he's offering it to me for the scrap cost. The insurers are playing silly bu**ers and started @ £450, but dropped to £350 yesterday. We're hoping to push 1 more time - but I'll take it on @ £350.
So - thats me introduced... and if today brings me good news in the form of a better price, I'll have a dinged GTII on the driveway by the weekend - and a new post on the wanted forum looking for parts!
Interior is absolutely mint. Not a mark. Just over 100k on the clocks. Comes with recent timing belt (or is it a chain on these?) and the Borbets. I've promised him that once done, "IF" I decide to sell, he can have it back at cost. It'll be called "Rocky II - The Sequel" Hope it never sees Rocky III!

Re: Introduce yourself
Hi
first off sadly I don't own a Scirocco, but have had 2 in the past.
I had a Mk1 1983 GLS in River blue which I bought with about 60K miles on the clock.
Loved the thing so much it had 160K when I traded it in against a Mk2 GTX.
I always did love the Scirocco and, I still do.
I've visited this site many times just to see how you lucky Sciroccoites are fairing and there are some absolute beauties here, and having so many in view, I just had to join.
I'll dig out a few pics soon.
Many thanks
Peter

Re: Introduce yourself
Hi Ryan - yes - they were a rarely ticked option. An extra £768 as I recall to upgrade to these from the standard seats The Coupe is a very undervalued car IMO. I'd initially been looking at MkII Golfs, but could get this V6 with full dealer history for less than a 8V Gti.Ryan wrote:Hi Johnny,

I should know later today hopefully about the rocco price. I think (unless anyone can tell me otherwise) that even @ £350 - its a fair buy back price given the car was near mint.
What value would the car have prior to the hit - and as a cat d repaired car? I'd have thought £1300 before, £900-1000 after? (Mind you... the owner paid £1700 a year ago for it)
