Re: 1982 1.5 CL Auto
I can't find a front grill that I like, the three piece one that's on it doesn't line up properly and is held on with cable ties. I did think about Mk2 Golf but the badge sits too high or too low (depending wether you cut off top or bottom slat I assume). Also thought about B2 Passat or Quantum but the slats look a bit too chunky for the front of the rocco.
So I thought I'd have a go at changing the grills for lights. Thanks to ianaudia4 for the bargain pair of lights, while they are out I thought I'd give them a bit of love.

The lights look good, glad you received them safely.

Re: 1982 1.5 CL Auto
I've had the rocco back for a few weeks but due to crappy weather (and...er.....new Call of Duty....) It took a while before I got outside to have a play. One side is all welded up, new arch and inner arch plus loads of other small panels that needed fabbing and welding up (rear valance around the exhaust, sill, inner sill, rear quarter...the list goes on). I think he's excelled himself, it looks the nuts and it's fantastic not having to look at a crusty wheelarch.
While I was waiting for the weather to clear I carried on with the headlights. I tried to fit the new inner lights but didn't realise that they use a different surround. Thanks to ianaudia4 again I soon had a correct pair.
The original adjusters on the car had been bodged, tie wraps and melted plastic. The passenger side headlight was rattling all over the show.

She's had a prang in the front at some point, the front valance is dented, the front panel is pushed in slightly below the headlight and the headlight tab was a bit bent

Re: 1982 1.5 CL Auto
I had a bit of an issue with the headlight adjusters. The Mk2 Golf onesare just about passable on the inner lights, but the ones I ordered from Heritage turned out to be a bit wrong. I got the number from partsbase but somewhere there is an error, the ones I received have two 'ears' on the end but the ones I needed only had one. After a bit of mix and match between old and new (and a couple of adjustments with a Dremel) they worked eventually.
