So many plans, so little time
Re: Show us your mk1
Looks really good mate, never would of thought of cookies on a scirocco but works quite well in the chrome, don't think you'd pull it off in any other colour though!
Trying to decide on wheels for my own 'rocco at the minute which is always a challenge! Got some BBS RM but they're such a common/scene wheel and I think i'm going to try find something else.

You cant go wrong with RMs. I would have a set, but I just cant keep up with the cleaning! There might be people out there that say yeah too common, but your general passer by is gonna think wow that looks good so go for it!
Other wheels I like on mk1s are the Fuchs porshe black/polished, ats typ 5, ats classic (although a bit small to run daily) The good old ats cups are a practical but effective wheel i think! Anything with a dish and an edge.
Yet to finish polishing my OZ Turbos

Thank God for websites like these to help keep the fires and passions burning.
My name is Robert, Nice to meet you all. I'm new here but been a fan of early scirocco's since i sat in one the first time in 1977 when my cousin was a saleman at a local VW dealership. My father couldnt afford the Scirocco at the time and we ended up with a sunroof 2 door silver Golf instead.. Still not a bad second place !!!
I finally put a 76' scirocco in the garage almost 10 years ago. low milage and original paint and completely original interior other than the two period wooden Amco bits i've since removed. Completely Stock other than the NOS Gillet exhaust system and NOS koni shocks that I still had left over from my mk1 water cooled days back in the 80's.
Hope you enjoy the photos.
Kind Regards, Robert

Hi Rob
Great pics
Good to see you On this site, and with such a great car, you can't beat original, unrestored metal: period!
Hey if you don't want those wooden accessory parts I'd like 'em for my '75 project
Ps, do you know Danny with the '75? ( did you sell it to him?!)

My brother is currently in Canada snowboarding for 6 months...
All I'm saying is keep an eye on your car as I may send him to steal it for me!
Beautiful example you have Rob and looking so original!

If I could turn my jealousy for your Scirocco into electricity, it would replace every power station on the planet and end global warming. Robert, that is absolute perfection.
Currently without a car (long story)

Re: Show us your mk1
Thanks for all the nice words folks. Its Really appreciated
Yes we were metric over here by that time in 76' but if you look at the Dealer window sticker you can read the car was sold new first to the USA.
I'd be happy to pass on and sell the Amco bits to the person who was asking, please send me a pm.
Snowboarding has not been bad this year locally regardless of the warm winter,, althou i busted a rib on sunday that wouldnt stop me from going out next weekend, so your brother has a good chance to still swipe the car :- )))
Cheer's, Robert
