so ive fitted the south african clutch mech courtesy of mark watson
here are a few pictures
ive since drilled the origenal clutch hole round using a cone drill so the gromits in now.
only problem i found was the pedal would only travel 2-3 inches before the lever hit the bulkhead so i ended up extending the linkage so the swivel bit didnt hit the bulkhead, not sure if everyone will have this problem?
problem solved

I swear I recognise that grey/blue one from around the stereo area. Illumination?

It goes to the circular bunch plug on the engine loom and the other end went to the fuse box

right so not a lot has been happening in the last year, a mix of no enthusiam and other project issues meant this went on the back burner for a bit but hopefully get it going again.
so far ive managed to get the windscreen in (without breaking it!) which to my surprise went easier than expected.

next i thought it best i tackle the wiring as its something ive been putting off for far too long!
ive been following this thread
https://vwgolfmk1.org.uk/forum/index.ph ... &kfs80=360
which has proved fantastic for this conversion plus many links to info you will not find anywhere else!
but i do require your help guys as theres some DX wiring i dont know what it does and cant chop it out till im certain so if any of you can tell me what any of the plugs and wires in the pics below are i would be gratefull.

Bottom picture - I believe is the connections for the AAV (auxiliary air valve) ISV (Idle stability valve) and 5th Injector, there should be 3 plugs?
2nd picture - I think the green plug is for the WUR should have a red/white wire and a brown wire. Brown plug is for the Thermo time switch should have a green/white wire and a red/black wire, I think the other wires with the spade connectors are for the water temp and oil temp sensors but I can't see the colour of the wires.
1st picture - Not sure, can't see where it comes from or the colour of the wire?

If you let me know the colours I should be able to tell you what they are as when I changed over my engine I labelled every wire and took pictures lots of where it all went.

Agree with Mark. Brown plug is thermoswitch, green is wur and spade is coolant temp. All 2nd pic. Not sure about first pic either as there is not anything I can think of around there with that plug. Last pic is the aav, cold start as mentioned.
