Action in September?

I doubt it Jim, by that time I will need MOT, TAX and Insurance! I dont know when the car will be out again :( Missus and girls are more important right now and the car will always be there - gonna need some work on it when I do get it back out but it will defo be worth it mate

Ideas are being thought up regular since the car will not be on the road for a while!

Thoughts between friends are to swap the motor out for a VR lump and go Nitrous on that or 20vt. Coupled with a tube chassis at the front to make maintenance easier where the front of the car will come off as a whole piece (possibly fibreglass).
Interior rework with custom dash.


Have to get myself a solid list together and tick off as I go - you cant eat an elephant whole I guess

Best resurrect this thread as next week I will be looking at Tax, Test and Insurance and getting her up together for The National Meet!

Just to let you know where I am..

The white lady is good and is about to undertake a second rebuild but this time its balls out and smashing them up style!

Originally running K-Jet for the bored 1.9 16v and after a few issues I decided to switch to EFI via Megasquirt to give me more visibility of what my engine is doing.. This has now been canned for something more radical and shall we say insane!

From about the beginning of 2009 I have liked my drag racing and also loved the one picture of a Scirocco that was tube chassis and RWD. It is what I have always wanted to do in the long run and now the time has come to stop mucking about with her and build the car of my dreams!!!!!

So this is whats happening.....

The car will under go a strip out of the engine and running gear to leave me with a shell.
The body will be be put on a tube chassis tagged to 8.5 seconds for MSA regulations and fitted for RWD.
The engine I have for it will be a Audi 4.2 V8 running 360bhp and estimated 1/4 mile times will be around 11.5 seconds!
I will be attempting to keep the car road legal so I can drive her around for fun too!

This is a huge challenge for my ability and capability but my best mate Ron from Insane Creations (find them on facebook) is going to lead the way and assist me all the way! So I reckon in a year I will have something that looks like this!

This car is the neverending story isnt it lol

Engine out, brakes gone, suspension out, just steering bits and the seat then I can get plasma cutting on the chassis.. TBH I am shitting it (excuse the french) as its is a no going back situation once I start!

I will admit one thing! The torque from that 4.2 V8 is over 400ft lb!! She lunges a beauty and my dad nearly sent her through the cab on the low loader!

Ford 9" rear axle, locker diff and gears with shafts sourced!
2 speed power glide sourced!
Got the engine of course and now looking out for shocks and brakes and fuel cell.

Engine is out of the audi and off the gearbox with the standard 'up yours!' to it being an absolute nightmare!!!
Need to lose the pas pump, air con and clean her up!
Finishing off stripping the audi of parts to sell and keep..

Tube being ordered for the Scirocco chassis in the next month and then time to start some bending!
