I was planning on starting to polish the centres but my grinder went pop last night.... Yes another.
I stripped one centre buy hand, it still needs a lot of work on the pitting. I did say never again..... built not bought

Change of plan... Weber Alpha 40mm Throttle bodies the last owner had them on a 1.3 Nova SR so the injector size should be perfect. They are bolted to my Dbilas Small block manifold.. The webers are on ebay as kit for a small block.

The day of mocking came yesterday.
I used a bare head, bare block and gutted gearbox that could lifted in to the engine bay. It is still heavy but one person can move it with abit of effort. It took two of us to get it in big shout to nicky boy. I have done this so Arun can make me some new engine mounts so we can get the engine raised, tilted and moved forward in a bid to get the bonnet closed.
It started as this pile of junk.

I wanted a blank making for my dizzy. The blanks cost a bomb on ebay and are just a lump of metal. I thought we could make one using the old dizzy. Arun got my old dizz on his lath to make it flat, welded up the hole and then back on the lath to finsh. I love the details and how its turned out. Still has a part number and everything.

Cheers guys
Another year off for mine. Ive heard 2014 is the year of the Mk1 scirocco........... haha
I sold the RS's about 3/4 months ago. Mk1 sciroccos suck for tucking unless you raise the inner wings and turrets.

Hopefully 2014 is the year for Mk2's also as I'm hoping to get mine back on the road for it's 25th birthday.
Lots to do though

I'll be really interested to see how you get on with that, and how thick/gloopy it goes on. I'm looking for a tough but lightweight coating for the bottom of the Mk1 race project. I don't want to repaint it every time it ends up in a gravel trap, but I don't want to add 10kg of paint to the underside of the shell either :D

I used that epoxy mastic paint on the underside, rear beam, sills, wheel arches, fuel tank, filler neck, wishbones etc and it seems to be lasting with stone chips etc. I did also paint over the epoxy mastic under the wheel arches with stone chip paint and wax oiled under there as well. You just have to make sure you use the right quantities of paint and harder and if you want it thinner use the thinner included in box, I did not use it to thin the paint just to clean the brushes!
