I heard diesel gets the door strips off - the ones at the base of the door I presume

Hi Stuart,
Looking at your pictures I was assuming that it was the bump strip half way up the car that you were talking about.
When I was removing mine along with the black vinyl in line with the glass I used a stuff called De-solv-it same stuff as the bottle shown in the world famous Cpt Custom project in this link.

I got mine from my local Screw Fix store but I'm sure you can get it in other places.

I'll be there Sunday only.
Saturday is out for me due to family commitments.
I lost a sister-in-law to cancer a few weeks back so all the younger members of the clan are having a gathering on Saturday before they do the Cancer Race for Life on Sunday.
I have been allowed to go to Biggar while they are doing their bit for charity in Glasgow.
So far they have raised just over £1000.00 so they have done well.

My time table for Sunday is as follows :pilot:
Leave the house 07:30
Leave Bothwell services M74 @ 08:15
Leave Happendon services M74 @ 08:45
Arrive Abington M74 @ 09:00
Leave Abington heading to Biggar 09:30
I'll just be going round the car parks looking for lost scirocco's. :hehe:
I can supply a mobile number if anyone wants to meet up before Abington.

as you can see some of the rust was really bad!

the Aerial, broken so hopefully going to be welded over and be done with, fed up of 4r$3holes breaking them off every car i have, last one was for my 8ball, the boy took half the stick with it! i would of payed him the £1 the ball cost not to break it!

I just got back from the body shop, and it's good news! All e rust has gone! Every tiny bit! Really happy, unfortunately didn't get pictures but I go on holiday for a week and but then it should be done and if not ill show pictures of how far it is on, really happy though, unfortunately the chrome badge is smaller than the existing one, so another hole needs welded but luckily realised now rather than later! Sorry for the lack of pictures but I try my best!
