Just a thought but might be worth checking your mixture setting a weak mixture will sometimes cause the engine to cut out easily, adjusted mine to about 2.5% which helped on my mk1 golf cab with dx injection engine

Holy thread resurrection, Batman!

I did actually get this sorted in the end - one of the wires leading to the AAV had broken in a really non-obvious place, so fixed that up, and then adjusted the idle screw appropriately. Now sits at 900-1000rpm when warming up, and 850-900rpm when warm. All fine with me.

It's interesting that you mention mixture; I was thinking about having a look at this anyway, because it does pop a bit after hard acceleration, indicating that there's unburnt fuel in the exhaust. Probably best to get a meter on it to check that though.

Ha ha im always on hear having a look at the threads!! Glad your sorted bud just need to get the starting sorted on my own scala now!!
