You will see with just the top cover removed, whether the leak is coming from the rocker cover seal.
If that is dry, then suspect the intermediate shaft oil seal.
You do not need to remove the bottom cover just to check.
If you do want to remove the bottom cover then you will have to remove the bottom v-belt pulley
