I'm loving the Audi badge and stripe as the grille. I've got an Audi badge. Hmmm...

It has an Audi badge because it is an Audi!
It is an Audi 50, these were then built by VW and renamed Polo.

Is it?! Never seen that model. Am I on my own on this one? Anyway, I liked the idea of the air travelling in through four holes rather than a grille. Probably just me being weird. So what model is it? Thought it was some kind of highly modded/bodykitted golf.

Nice to know I wasn't being stupid for thinking it was VW despite the audi badge then. In fact, quite perceptive I'd say. Smug.

Again £1000, a pile of shite is the best way to describe that thing. The sellers must still believe in Santa Claus!
I am totally VAG through and through but I can't beleive people are trying to flog crap like this.
Yes I know some of us have bought a rough Scirocco over the years and made good again but for a
MK1 Polo, which are not exactly anything special.

Standard bonnet, cut out the entire centre section, sheet aluminium, rivet gun. Job done.

Anybody had chance to weigh a std bonnet yet?
Good idea Mr B. Think will have to do some experimenting when the time comes.
Btw expect a thread later on the proper GRP/Carbon bonnets...

Like this i guess?

(piccy lifted from a threaad on RetroRides)
Although I imagine that could also be a very light weight grp job.
I think is you are careful with what you remove, a bit of weight could be lost from a standard steel bonnet without it turning into a flappy mess ie keep the bracing on the leading edge. Only worth doing if you have taken steps to remove weight obvious from elsewhere first though, like race seats, stripped interior, polycarb windows, etc etc.
Can't see removing the original bracing and then trying to put back a thinner version being very effective/efficient, and would probably end up with a warped panel anyway...
exactly like that with a lot of flapping about
it took me ages to stop laughing and tell him what i was laughing at
he is a bit shorter than me and couldnt see it unless he sat up a bit
