Well although I got a new MoT (including a quick foglight mod the night before), I couldn't get to Santa Pod due to a bent alloy
It's back at the refurbers now, so should be sorted soon  one thing after another with these wheels!

I've also got the 6mm FK spacers on the front with the longer wheel bolts (35mm thread) and the new VW centre caps (pictured).

I managed to cure the random idle problem which had been plaguing the car for ages by fitting a new o ring on the idle screw = problem solved.

Before = flat fat o ring...
Image

after = perky tight ring (ooer)
Image

I got it from a seller on ebay.com along with new black plastic door handle inserts and an accelerator pedal rubber.

Yeah - well Danny did - the rust was creeping in from either side, so he used the pattern one I had bought (not a bad repro part - I compared it to Pongo's full length OEM rear panel, and was pleasantly surprised on how similar it was).

Well, I went to see a man about continuing the resto work today...had a good chat, and the plan is to get it back in the bodyshop in August (after the National meet ;) ). Which means I get to enjoy driving it during the summer :D

Some pics to follow tomorrow.

For the MoT I had the fog light moved into the rear cluster...
Image

Tinted the reverse lense, and got a red LED bulb - the garage did the rest...
Image

Also upgraded to LED bulbs for the brake lights today...and noticed the mess that is the wiring...
Image

Fitted MOMO Prototipo wheel today
Image

It's a bit smaller than the polo one - but I already love it :yahoo:

One for the road...

I have misplaced my Wolfsburg logo for the horn push (it's somewhere safe  )

Also I want to tint the other reverse light to match - and fit a white LED

More fiddling with the interior today...had these chrome inner door pulls for a while and finally got round to fitting them.
Also fitted the other 'chrome' winder as I couldn't find the correct screw when I did the drivers side

And I replaced the black plastic trim on the passenger door handle as it was cracked.

Mwaah-ha-ha-haaaaa!!!!!

Got the supersprint system fitted today -

Back box from Craig via Alex (cheers guys)

The centre section came with the 4-2-1 manifold and larger bore back box I bought a while ago.

Image

Image

Unfortunately the manifold bolts were not playing ball - despite liberal application of penetrating fluid...so I don't have the cash for the garage to take the head off and whatever else that intails at the moment...so the 4-2-1 will have to wait. :dash:

Ok - the Storm is in the body shop for a major overhaul :training:

The good news is I really like the bloke who's doing it, and he's only 30 mins up the rd :D
The bad news is - he rang this morning and told me my NOS wings weren't worth s***.
They're not VAG wings - so I need some more as the ones on the car were the originals and are now in bits all over the floor!!! :ire:

Excuse the poor quality pics - I was in a rage and a rush at the same time
Poor car
Image

This one will fit with a LOT of work
Image

Image

This one is shocking and will not even bolt up!

But there is good news.
A few little rust bubbles along the passenger door were not as bad as they might have been...

That's all for now folks - got any wings lying around????

(no really though?) - I'm off to Germany :ebay:
