AGG to replace a DX

Hi guys a little update and some more questions...

1) This AGG is from a passat and the oil filter housing points down, i'm guessing this is the same as a golf and so will be ok?

2) Which water pump did you use? The AGG one or the DX one or is there no difference?

3) What belts did you use (cambelt, alternator), AGG, DX or something else?

4) Which alternator did you use, AGG or DX?

5) for the headgasket did you use a 1.8 or 2.0 gasket?

I've got the AGG pretty much stripped down now and I ordered the conversion kit from TSR to save time, I'm taken pictures and documenting as I go so I can put up a guide for anyone else wanting to do this....

Any help as usual greatly appreciated

1) all agg's ive seen have the filter housing with the correct angle of the dangle
2) i just used the agg one to save me from having to replace the gasket but you may want to grind the heads off the alternator bracket studs if you do
3) you need a 2.0 cambelt it is longer alternator belt depends on the alternator you use
4) i used a rocco one and changed the pulleys over but i have seen other people use the later ribbed belt type
if you have one use it for ease of not having to change the pulleys and find a longer belt
if you don't use the rocco one you will need to take the old standard alternator belt to halfords and buy a slightly longer one (30mm ish)
5) you can use either but i chose to use the standard agg metal type gasket
