Petrol companies putting more ethanol in petrol which in turns rots older rubber fuel lines which are not compatible with ethanol.

I need to replace the fuel lines on mine, still currently debating which way to go. 'Crazy Quiff's' (Mk1 Golf specialist) sell stainless steel braided lines.
There's a seller on eBay called 'classiccargeekuk' who sells a ready made set of kunifer lines (and also brake lines). Both of these are advertised for fuel injected Mk1 Golf's but will fit Scirocco's.

Or there's the option of buying kunifer or PTFE pipe and making your own, but with this option there are more joints (leak risks) and you'll need to use rubber hose for the joints, which again presents a problem getting the correct spec hose and regularly checking/replacing it.

i did all mine in one peice of 8mm copper pipe which you need a propper pipe bender for.
trying to find decent rubber fuel line is a bit of a nightmare, best stuff ive found so far was made by goodyear.

Hi,

I've contacted the guy who runs 'classiccargeekuk' on eBay and he says that my chassis number didn't come up on their system. I've told him mine is a GT. Does anyone know the length of the fuel lines on a 1.6 GT and what fittings are on the end? They might be able to make me a set.

Thank you
