One shopping round trip of 9 -10 miles @ 0 - 30mph = No water leakage
One round trip on M8 of about 40 miles @ 0 - 70mph = one miniscule drop of water at cap

Next on the list is a little PTFE tape on the bottle and a new return hose from the radiator to the expansion tank.
I am happy that the water loss has been stopped but I think a new hose should be fitted as the one on just now is probably past it's sell buy date.
I'll do the tape first and then the hose to see if either completely eliminates the problem but as I said earlier I'm one Very Happy Bunny.

get some electrical tape on the threads on the bottle, then screw it on, had a similar issue on mine, all sorted now.

You would be better off using ptfe tape. It's squishy and makes its own seal. Good enough for plumbing and compressed air, should do the job

That was the plan for today but a boiler repair, a new blind and a broken window handle all got in the way.
Who says you'll have all the time in the world to play with your car when you retire
Hopefully get it PTFE'd today and pick up some new hose on Friday.
If it all works out I'll flush and re-fill over the weekend as I have no idea what the mixture in her is like.

Still going for replacement hose from the radiator to the expansion tank.

I noticed today on my black hose it says 'heater' . I've used that clear tubing with reinforcing stuff in it from b&q before.

typical ive just noticed the water flange on the front of the head on my rocco has started weeping.
and the sump gasket is weeping again old problem rearing its head
funny how these problems manifest themselves in the winter when its dark and cold and usually wet!

I prefer electrical tape, its thicker and easier to manage. its in my tool kit too! but its not an argument, both will work, electrical tape stays on through multiple removals of the cap.
