You know Randall, I've seen extremely rusty cars restored... you sure you want to give up on that shell just yet?

I know economically it might not make sense, but then hardly any of this makes sense economically!

On the plus side, you can probably find a Mk1 shell in the southwestern part of the US in good shape if you need to go that route...

Good luck and can't wait to see the progress either way.

ThomasD, I spent yesterday with this Scirocco and have decided to make it a track day car with a different engine and transmission. The good bites of this Storm along the engine and the transmission will eventually be put into another shell and I will build it into a show car to be taken around America to show how these cars looked when they were new in the late 70's/early 80's :vcool:

I will be moving to Maryland to live full time soon instead of visits every few months. Then this project start to move at a better pace than it has for the last 2 years since I got this Scirocco 8-)

This Storm will be moving to another garage/shed soon and the process of rebuilding will start 8-)
