I have a Black 1980 mk1 Storm here in the USA, that originally came from Wales :vcool:

the number plates that came on this Scirocco read GTG 951W, not sure if these are the original resignation plates

Image

this Storm's original paint colour is Black Metallic L98F, even though it looks like the current colour is Brown (when you see this Scirocco in person it is a dull Black colour almost a flat black) I plan to respray this Storm in the original colour next year :vcool:

I'm fairly certain that the black paint was actually metallic black with a brown tinge to it, so I think these cars can often look brown. It's probably the original colour.

this was originally a Noisette Brown '81 Storm that was in the Channel Islands before being personally import by a VW employee to the USA in 2007.

this Storm has been painted another colour Helios Blue twice,
1st by the owner in Brittany, before Bret (radiogeek1) got it, & a 2nd time here by "radiogeek1" in Michigan.

here is a photo of it in the Channel Islands back in 2007

I have the sister car to the car posted above (also in the states), but still in original noisette brown. Actually it would be nice to find the original reg for my car, or figure out what the plate said. If any one has any old photos or leads on something like that, it would be helpful!

The one I have is an 81 Storm, had no motor or trans when I acquired it. Now under heavy modification.

I was talking with my mate that I bought my 80 Black Storm from last week and he mentioned that the interior in mine was from an 81 Brown Storm he bought from Scotland and broke for parts as in it had too much rust to save it. Unfortunately my mate does not remember the plate resignation number of that Scirocco.

a photo of my 80 taken last week

That's because it's a Mars Red GTI, not a Storm.

Hello fellow rocco owners

I'm currently rebuilding my 79 storm

It was in a barn for 22 years

I would say I'm about 1/4 way threw the build with the welding pretty much done and I now have a mint pair of doors.
I will get a few pics over the weekend

Spent some time looking through old adverts, articles etc. in my collection of VW Motoring mags to try and find some of the 79s. Took an age as I have every issue from Jan 1977 - Dec 2005. :-o

Anyway, I think we now know of 16. I'll list them all here so they are in one place. Some more pics too.
