Modded or standard, the beauty of the mk2 is they're cheap as chips so it doesn't really matter. Therer's still plentx about too so it not important to preserve them. An ideal project car.

The Register has had a club stand for the last few years, the only thing it has been lacking in cars! I think the rest of the show is good and plenty to see, even some dodgy old Fords :-D and some even dodgier Allegros!!! :-o

You're right - You hardly ever see them on the road now but, there seems to be plenty for sale ? Just looked now on Ebay and there's 4 today, from £900 to £1500 asking price. Perhaps they are getting rarer ? I'm hoping mine will be on the road this summer and do a few shows.

ianaudia4 wrote:For a start you would be well advised to put the original wheels back on and sell the BBS replicas seperate. Indeed people do like modded cars but I can say that they prefer to buy as original as possible as a starting point.

People will also buy on condition and provenance as well as model rariety, so the best cars will get the best price. On Sciroccos the bodywork is always going to cost the most to put right, most mechanical parts are still available and reasonable to buy. So getting the door fixed up may mean the difference between a sale or not!

Take a look in the for sale section on here, Ebay and other websites that sell cars for a idea of price and what has sold recently.
Hi there, sorry for the necro bump but I just bought this car LOL, the allure of a Scirocco was too strong.

Regarding the wheels, should I be concerned they are replicas from a safety perspective? would they have to go through similar tests as any wheels to pass muster?
