if they are available, i might see if he'll do us a deal on a handful of them. i was wondering about getting a spare and sticking it in the loft. i've gone through quite a few screens in the last few years

right, he's going to call me back with a price for 5, 10 and 15 screens. it is pilkington made screens that he supplies.
picked mine up this morning

no rubber seal available sadly, but at least i've got some nice new glass to go in mine.
seeing as i'm a good 150 miles away from my car, i can't check it to see it's the right one. whilst i'm sure it will be (it does say mk1 scirocco on the sticker, and it came up as the right one for my reg number) could one of you loverly people just take some quick measurements of your mk1 so i can sort of check? ta!

Nate , I've got an old screen in my loft (out of car and rubber) it is not good enough to sell as I would have mentioned it.
Do you want me to take some rough measurements (width across and height)?

Roughly:
Height in the middle of the screen from top to bottom 26 & 1/2 inch or 673 mm
2 width measurements 1. (at top before it curves round) 42 & 1/2 inch or 1073 mm.
Width measurement 2.(at bottom before it curves round) 53 inch or 1346 mm.
I'd be willing to place an order for a spare screen. Get back to me if you need more measurements, it will have to be tomorrow now though.

Just seen this, or I'd have replied sooner.
I got a contact for a guy in Shropshire who reckons he can get just about any windscreen - he was in the trade for years and is also into motorsport so does polycarb windows too. This is his website. He reckons he can get them made to order too, if he can't find one on the shelf. Recently helped me out with a Series 1 Alfasud screen for a mate.
Can also get hold of a lot of older rubber seals.
Mike Davis is his name - website below.
