just a quick up date for anyone following this thread I managed to find out why the car was not running properly turns out the rubber collar that the carb sits on has a massive split in it (wondered why the carb rocked from side to side  ) any way I managed to get a new one plus I gave the carb a good clean and she ran fine well apart from the choke which is sticking the offending part has been removed and a nice 90 degree bend found in the outer casing right behind the dash where I could not see it new one ordered also thanks to the member who sent me the webber diagram I think I have sorted the air box fixing issues just need to make a bracket as I cant find one to buy also does anyone know where the air intake runs to at the front of the car mine is missing also sorted the oil leak dodgy sender as suggested ive also ordered a new aeriel bloody hard to find one that fits got one for a golf mk2 that the chap says fits a scirocco and thinking of a stereo upgrade will my 1988 gt11 have a standard connector its in 2 blocks with 8 pins in each one must admit I am very impressed with the car even though ive not driven it yet my brother had the same model 10 years ago 10,000 mls in a year no probs(apart from the pierburg carb) he is thinking of getting another one so we can go to shows in the summer are there any in the north or midlands anyone can recommend hopeing to camp so a 2 day event would be ace cheers

1988 GT11, surely a GT? Anyhow, the stereo connectors should be ISO, therefore easy to buy a connector to upgrade the stereo from any decent ICE shop.
