There is no relay on this circuit. The wires to the switch run from pins E13 and D16 on the back of the fusebox. Pin D16 is connected internally via Fuse number 5 to pin F10, the wire from which runs to the rear screen.

Depending on what year your car is, will dictate the colours of the wires. From Pin E13, it should be black with either white or yellow tracer. From Pin D16, it should be either white with green tracer or green with white tracer. From Pin F10 it should be either solid black or solid white which then joins to solid black at either a single or two point connector in the boot.

Thanks Pete,

I will check out the wires at the weekend and follow the recommended troubleshooting process. It's going to be frosty tonight so I need to get it sorted otherwise I;ll be scraping teh ice off the inside of the screen!

On a side note, does anyone know what the missing pipe is in the middle of the pic below and where it should go? It's near the battery. (forgive my lack of technical undertsanding)

There is not a missing pipe, down that hole is the mixture screw!
