Right well replacing the NS driveshaft didnt solve the problem so i'm thinking that its the gearbox itself. I replaced my gearbox so im going to get my old one rebuilt as that was a plan of mine that I was gunna get done but never got round to it. So we'll see if that cures my problem as I've driven a few cars with the gearbox bearing gone and sounds alot like it. So will update if that cures the problem. Gunna be the 6th time the gearbox has been taken out.

if i've read it right this time then the one driveshaft slopes up from the 'box to the hub, and the other slopes down from the box to the hub?

can you get a pic of under the front end for us before you start throwing money at a gearbox. i'm still not convinced that's actually your problem.

Right i managed to get the car up on the 4 post ramp before i left work to day and got a couple of photos os the underside. The files are too big for the forum so have put the onto photobucket.

http://s657.photobucket.com/albums/uu30 ... co%20GTII/ As you can see from the NS driveshaft from rear the shfat goes in a slight upwars direction and the OS is practically level.

hope this helps and gives you some other ideas of what it could be. Ive found another gearbox on the forum and comes with an engine for £55 so was thinking of rebuilding the engine and painting it up and making the engine bay looking good.

kinda hard to judge angles in the pic

what are the engine mounts like? check that the rear one on the gearbox is on properly and not breaking apart
