I will keep the servo/master cylinder to one side for you in case you need them. The best servo/master cylinder set up on stock brakes I find is the mk2 golf/ passat 16v. Which I'm running on my mk2 rocco with stainless hoses, uprated pads and grooved disks with dot5 brake fluid.

Wow, that's a serious modification! Interesting though.

I've just fitted new standard discs and pads in so will try the Lacetti thing first (also, not sure I'm up to that scale of modification)

Will keep you posted (I'm still hoping to hear from someone who has done the Lacetti upgrade for advice...especially if it's just a quick bolt on upgrade :-D )

Now...to keep looking on eBay for a Lacetti master cylinder thingy!

supercharged20v wrote:The Chevrolet servo was a straight swap! I only had to change the clevis for the old servo to the Chevy one. The bolt pattern was the same. The brakes are now akin to a modern car! EASY..

The Caddy G60 is up for £2995 email me at dubdoctor@hotmail.com for pics, or call me on 07968 250245,

Thanks Marcus.

Also, thanks Little_ bro. That has convinced me to stick with the Lacetti plan...just need a matching master cylinder now, or a set of servo and master cylinder, to appear on eBay!

Thanks for all the help guys, will keep you posted on progress.

So I now have the Lacetti servo and master cylinder and the car has failed the MOT on the brakes (it actually passed the rolling road test but the tester said the pedal was too hard to press so the servo needs sorting...this did not make sense to me but what do I know)

The problem with the Lacetti master cylinder is that it has 2 pipes out of it and the Scirocco one has 4.

I'm thinking my car might be up for sale soon as its been used for 3 months in about 15 years!
