Just the ticket. Now put on my theme song (http://youtu.be/E5ZYBOq2-3o" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) and we'll see what we can do with this patient of yours.

(N.B. this is exactly how the NHS runs. I'll let you get back to the car now.)

So perhaps an explanation is called for.....

As it stands at the moment the Bandit is deader than Michael Jackson. The problems got to such a point that I decided to call it a day and it's currently sat with half the pieces in the boot and only part of the loom and I've sold the Sparcos. If I keep on the same road then I may even sell the Borbets.

The problem was that in the rush to get the now infamous engine-we-knew-feck-all-about working we cut corners and bodged it, something I've never done before and whine about when other people do it. This ultimately lead to trousers bodgy wiring (whoever fitted the alarm needs a "chat") and fitting a couple of parts knowing fully well that they'd come back and bite me in the arse. All in all, all very unlike me or the guy that's been helping me.

But in true Jackson tradition it'll probably come back from the dead although without all the glitter and rumours of child sex.

A couple of weeks ago it was picked up from my place and transported down to Kent Vw. Those of you that know of it are, I'm sure, in two minds about the place and the people. But I can honestly say that in nearly 20 years I've never had cause to complain or think that the service I got was anything less than exemplary. The basis for the visit was simple: diagnose what went wrong and determine whether it was worth sticking back together. The next part was me deciding what I wanted to do, a much harder choice than I expected and during the next week or two I changed my mind every day and mentally narrowed the choice for the next project down with one Rocco in particular coming within a hairs breadth of becoming the next car.

But a couple of conversations and the realisation that what I wanted to do could easily be accomplished with the Bandit convinced me to have a little chat with myself. Getting another car and sticking the bandit in a grage would have lead to a forgotten car as I'd never have gone back to it which would have been mental as the body is immaculate. The main problem I had was blown out of proportion in my mind and turned out to be an easy fix.

And so now there's a plan in place although nothing is concrete until wednesday. That's when the infamous Grumpy spends a whole day getting the fecker running and from there they can give me time frames and possible costs.

The plan I have means taking a different route and I'm cool with that. I guess the problem was that I was so fixated with getting it running and using that I'd forgotten the reason why I started it in the first place. This way I can tone everything down a bit and go for a more subtle, but equally evil look.

We have the technology, we can rebuild.

Well.....

It's not finished nor is it back yet but things are looking much much better.

Very basically the car has had a radical overhaul. It seems that the alarm caused an absolute shed load of problems that weren't helped by me playing around so everything had to come out which then caused it's own host of problems.

While I was at it I decided that it was time to address a couple of other bits that had been playing on my mind and sort a few others things. The wiring has all been rebuilt from the ground up and tidied.

there's more to it than that but I'll get round to it all later. Thinking that this year it'll be just making the most of having back and running round in it, if that means it has mismatched interior and chipped wheels then so be it.
