so after another busy week priming and painting all manner of odds n sods i can start putiing the scirocco mechano set back together.
after getting the brakes dty fitted i took it all apart again and painted it matt black.
this week i have fitted the rear anti roll bar back on
still waiting for everything elso to dry (bloomin cold weather!)

Image

the bolt on antiroll bar clamps i made my self as the way vw intended the origenal clamp bracket to go on is idiotic.
the originals may be OEM but i dont have the patience to mess with it.

i also took delivery of these too which i hope to test out on my green rocco to see what they are like as they may be too good for crusty, and im too impatient to wait to see if they are any good.
Image

also fitted the steering rack and wishbones back in plus front anti roll bar is in but not secured yet as my clamps disintegrated when i tried to remove them.
so will be making some new ones.

its so exciting to finally be putting it back together.
i keep trying to restrain myself from going to overboard with this car as its only a track day car but i cant help trying to keep it looking nice.
green rocco will deifnately be getting the beauty treatment once crusty is done

Lots of work happening here. Geniune VW clamps are only £8.22 to buy, I changed mine the other week.

New bushes are £1.20, I put mine in some boiling water for a couple of minutes and a little copper grease on the anti roll bar, they slid on nice and easy.

Those coilovers are identical to my ST coilovers that I've just got, if you haven't fitted and driven the car I would suggest you do so in a hurry as the ride quality is amazing! Spring rates suit the damping perfectly. I have standard VW bottle tops in 14" with 60 profile tyre.

Awesome progress with the car anyway

Cheers connerj19,
I've been looking forward to a dry day when I can these bad boys on my green rocco to see what there like.
One day soon hopefully.
I believe this set is weitecs hicon tx because the damping is adjustable as well
I also have standard 14s too that should help with ride comfort.
I'm currently building a gauge so I can adjust the camber accurately.

My cheap guage to adjust the camber.
Jack up the front and place a jack under the wishbone (needs to be low jack)

Mark sure the car is level.

Then check the camber and adjust as needed.

When I had mine set up by vw the fronts came back with negative camber so setting it up with a spirit level will only give you 0 degrees camber.
