Just been followed into Beaconsfield services by a man in a white mk3. He showed no interest whatsoever in one of the nicest '82 GTIs in the country.

It does say SCIROCCO across the rear windscreen in reasonably large letters... still...

Far too many Mk3s on the road these days. Went past nine on the way back from Taunton to Bristol today, and none of them acknowledged me at all.

white Scala or GTII roared past me on Cricklewood Broadway/ Shoot Up Hill at about 5pm today.
And on the mk3 subject, a chap in work for whom i do not have a giant amount of respect said to me the other day, 'i hear you talking about Sciroccos all the time. I'd like one myself.'
i said, 'yeah, I've had two, cracking cars. You can pick them up for under 2 grand.'
He looked at me blankly. Didn't even realise there were other versions besides the current model.

Saturday afternoon, coming up to a roundabout on the A1 (Biggleswade exit), saw a white MkII way behind me, so slowed down a fair bit to exchange thumbs up. Big smile from the woman driving it, look very chuffed with her beautiful GTII, and quite right too - H69***
I'd just driven out of a muddy field, so mine wasn't in quite as good nick...

Stumbled upon this perusing a blog for pictures of Routemaster buses (don't ask) when i spotted this
Funnily enough I was actually briefly distracted by the Alfa, thinking, 'that looks a bit like a Rocco' before I realised 'hey, there's one in front of it!'

Spotted a red scala with what looked like 15/16" TSR? alloys just outside brooklands yesterday. First other scirocco I've spotted since March -felt a little guilty for stripping mine lol

That sounds like Matt's car, was it really shiny red?

That's the one, with a Jetex exhaust iirc. We both saw it a few weeks back after we'd had champagne and chips on the beach. I saw it out of the corner of my eye and thought that someone had knicked mine and driven past me until I saw the GTII badge on the B pillar

A gaggle of mk1's in various states of repair in a workshop near Nottingham...... And a lively little small light mk1 golf too!
It's going to be a good weekend.
