I first saw it in the Golf mag feature - had a screen saver of it for ages...

Had the round headlights back then - I loved it!

He was a bloody good photographer! That rear 3/4 shot is a cracker.. that was back in 2001 wasn't it? Just shows you don't need to modify a mk1, they're beautiful just as they are!

The photos with the square lights are from about 2 years ago when I had her out for the summer.. so she still looks pretty much the same!

I'm hoping to bring it out again in 2011, the only change being the switch to BBS E50's (some interior improvements and a rebuilt engine)... but my workload with the Time Attack Polo may prevent that :(

So what you got planned apart from the paint ... are you leaving the interior stripped or putting it back to stock?

And what's with the mini scoops on the bonnet?

:hi:

Bought it from a guy in America. It's off a Mk1 Rocco but don't know the make. It may disappear when i get around to paint. Have got a window louvre ( yeah i know, 80's cheese! ) like off an old 911 but not sure about that either. I intend to change the interior although i love the seats. Don't see the blue stripe much but worn in the usual places ( drivers bolster ). I'm going to make a patterned headlining and match it with door cards, strip out rear seats and half-cage if i can find one! Was going to roll the arches to accomodate the 205/45/16s Corrado wheels but reluctant to change the shape and mess up the new arches. Easier to change tyres. Maybe 195's won't rub! Audi 80 door handles as i hate the mechanism on the originals. The other big dilemma is whether to delete the chrome around the windows? What do you think?
