Morning all,
So here I am at the end of another show season. It's been a real roller coaster and a few times, especially at the beginning of the year I was ready to jack the whole thing and start something else, but all that pretty much disappeared out the windows when the car was back on the road and tearing tarmac apart. I was hoping to get to Players this weekend but with less than a week before my wedding and friends over from the states that looks highly unlikely, the car is now back at the barn and I've removed a few its so I can start playing as soon as I'm back from the honeymoon but realistically I think it'll be the New Year before anything meaningful happens. It's fairly crap thinking that I probably won't drive the car for a couple of months but when I think about it it isn't that bad. I'm not back until the middle of October and it'll take e a week or two to get my shizzle back what with work and whatnot. I've already ordered a few parts that I'll need and there's bits on the car that need sending to the Powder coaters so all it all it's not that bad.
The definate plan for next year is to drive the bloody thing more. What with everything going on this year I only ended up doing a couple of meets and festivals and it's a terrible waste so there's a commitment to do as many bits and pieces as I can. Groove, my long suffering GF and soon to be Waf wants to really focus on her racing next year so there's a vague chance we may end up with a Transporter to ship the boat about but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it. I'd love to play with one and I think it'd be the perfect stable mate for the Bandit but I want to focus on getting the Rocco finished before I go off and play with something else.
So the plan......
As it stands I have literally just ordered another job lot of acoustic carpet. It's been a total bastard to try and get hold of the good quality stuff but I think I;ve found it. This means I can set to work on the rear install (sub needs remounting and i'll put a VW cover over the wheel well in the same way I did with the cab plus there's a few bits that need cleaning up and I want to fit another electrical port and cup holders) and finally finish the front door cards. As some of you may have seen I've got the pods installed and they rock. The sound quality is superb and they look fairly standard. Unfortunately I'm not all that impressed with the comfort suede so that'll be coming off and everything will be recovered. Interior wise it's all fairly simple stuff and something I can tackle. The dash, for example, should only take a morning at most.

But obviously the big part will be the new engine. This I'm genuinely excited about.
The engine lift is all ready so it'll be pulled out, the gearbox'll get the long needed overhaul, the drive shafts'll get the good news with powder coating, I'll tody the engine bay (as far as possible with a bloody K-jet) and get everything fitted along with the newly improved tidy wiring.
God I can't wait.
