Someone on here has one for a Mk2 - they were made in-period, I think more for the American market - shopping over there (try VW Vortex on the web) might be the easiest way to find one.

I've also wondered about this. Good work on posting the American pic although perhaps not quite as cool as my minds eye thought it would look.
