Bike carb photos..
Looking for some photos of bike carbs on a 16v, also some help on coolent hose mods.

Re: Bike carb photos..
what carbs you going for? and what manifold?
i'm running '99 R1 carbs and a homemade manifold. you'l also need a new water outlet flange, i bought mine from a guy i know who makes them in stainless specifically for the 16v running throttle bodies or carbs. ill dig out his link if you like.

here you can see the flange, and how i cut the water hose and used a straight section of stainless to re-connect them after shifting the radiator as far over to the right as is possible.

any info you need regarding this conversion just drop me a message :)
heres my build thread with a load of pictures and a few details

Oh, and its worth mentioning. If you have 220 pounds available for a manifold, go straight for a bogg brothers one, dont bother trying to make your own. the angles are a right pain, and unless perfect it'll all just pop off every few miles.
Also, if you can afford it twin 45's would be much better. i cant think of the amount of times i have tried to cost up selling this set up and buying a set of Webber's. if someone offered the right price id shift it all today haha

Hi mate, just had a quick look through your thread will take some time to read it properly later... I have a manifold already made up and have some zx6r carbs, r1 fuel pump, filter king with fuel gauge. Do I defiantly need one of those flanges?? Also what's the crack with repositioning the alt, do I need a smaller belt??? And... Sorry for all questions.... Have you got the 430mmx350mm aprox radiator?? Thanks again need all the help I can get... Taking on a task a little out of my comfort zone :)

Re: Bike carb photos..
hey mate, no worries on the questions, i asked about all you could when i did it haha.
with the mani, make sure you get the runners square with the carbs else they will come off no matter how hard you try.
you will more than likely need the water outlet flange if the current one exits the block at 90 degrees, you'll want sommet like 45 degress to allow enough room for your carbs.
think im running a standard rad, think its 535 but ill have to check.
i didnt have to change the alternator set up at all with my manifold and carb set up.
where are you based? can lend a hand if close enough.

I just broke my radiator expansion nipple so might look for the bigger one as looks like it fits much better.... I have Reyes putting them on but they fowl the alternator..... Didn't check the bonnet!! I'm based in Northampton where abouts are you???

sure thing, wassell2000@hotmail.com is my e-mail.
ebay is your friend for radiators, got mine for 35 quid posted and its worked well enough so far, doesnt look any different from the original. dealer was based in redruth, cornwall, if it helps your search. i'd link you but im in the desert with limited internet atm so have to pick my web browsing carefully haha - wont be able to reply for a day or two either as im off to collect a colleague . oh and if you get a bigger rad, remember you'll need the bigger fan cowling too.
how much do they foul the alt by? if you use a shorter belt you can lower the alt. or if you want to go fancy, you can fit an ABF alt, bracket water pump pulley and bottom pulley. this lowers the set up by loads, but you gotto source all the parts, preferably from a scrapped mk3 golf as it'll all be there.
i'm based in bodmin, cornwall so its a bit far to pop over im affraid lol.
if you're already making a mani just g for it, worst that can happen is it'll need some re-jigging. just make sure your float bowls are level on the carbs, so the mani angle needs to be roughly 45 degrees. my carbs hit the bonnet by a gnats whisker, but it was just enough to push them off - my mani wasnt too good on the connection.
let me know if theres anything else you need. look forward to some pics of the build
