Cone air filter (cold air induction) - which one

want to put a cone air filter on to my weber 32/34 dtml more for bonnet clearance than anything else.
Was going to put a pancake K&N on the top of the weber but have heard of hot air issues in traffic etc so thought would go down the cone filter route down by the front light.

Anybody done this or know which is the best filter/routing to use?

I'd say don't bother on a carbed car, use a panel type filter. If you remove the air box you will loose the "hot air" flap in the intake system and you WILL get problems in winter with carb freezing due to the low teperature and moisture in the air.

Apparantly (If I remember correctly) that set up will also fit a pierburg/weber

yes, you can use the bits from a mk3 1.4 golf with single point injection (looks like a carb) and it should fit your pieburg or weber. you can then run this down to the o/s inner wing using the golf flexi-pipe and/or some 68mm rainwater downpipe. mk3 astra has a rubber pipe the correct size too. if you want to go for the cone filter, i can supply an unbranded one for £15.
