Breaking a GTII over the weekend.
Any tips for removing the rear quarter windows and the windscreen? I'd like to save them as spares.
Doors are easy and I'll just take the tailgate off as it will help protect the rear screen.

I get the screens out this way: http://www.sciroccoregisterforum.co.uk/ ... =19&t=7985 Have a look half way down the page. Have removed both mk1 and mk2 screens in this manner. Just be gentle and make sure that you tease all the window gasket out under the aperture lip between the screwdrivers.
Rear side windows. Lie on the back seat and place feet at 2 and 9 o'clock and give a firm push.

Someone did my rear quarter windows for me last year and he had me stand on the outside to catch it while he pushed the seal out from the inside working around and eventually it came out with a push.

Well I successfully got the rear quarter glass and windscreen out.
I was up against it time wise before the scrap man came for the shell which kind of took the pressure off me breaking them! I'd have to quickly attempt it and risk breaking the glass but at least come away with the rubbers or lose the lot to the scrap
man. As it turns out, they all came out rather easily.
Rear quarters I pushed with my feet. Could see them move straight away. Amazing how much the glass can bend without shattering :-0 Anway, got it free of the car at the B pillar and then slid the glass forwards towards the front of the car. Simple and effective.
Windscreen also pushed with my feet but I was alone and therefore convinced it would crack leaving me with just the rubber. Well let's just say I couldn't believe my luck when it just popped out at the top and sides without cracking! Lifted it up of the scuttle and that was that. I will say the windscreen was a brand I'd not heard of before - Safeview. If it's 1-2mm smaller in each direction than a factory Sekurit one then I guess that could make it a lot easier to remove.
Left door glass and tailgate glass in the panels as I'm keeping them anyway and it'll help protect them.
