It appears to have settled down again maybe just a bit of flatulence.

No problem here using the browser "back" button. Doesn't log me out.Cpt Custom wrote:Not sure if its a 'glitch' or not, but I've noticed that when moving through the forums any attempt to go back from whence you came using the browser back button means you need to log back in.
Can anyone tell me if this is a glitch or a deliberate change to how the forum works?
You can still navigate backwards using the links that sit below the Register logo at the top of the page, but I guess most folks that use the internet regularly will be in the habit of using the browser's back button and the change only seems to have occurred recently.
Deleted the cookies my friend, but I still have the same problem and I'm using Internet Explorer too.sander hoogendijk wrote:maybe you should delete the forum cookies.
on the bottom of the forum there is a link to delete forum cookies.
i don't have problems with google Chrome, Internet Explorer or mozilla firefox.
do you have it with other forums too???Cpt Custom wrote:Deleted the cookies my friend, but I still have the same problem and I'm using Internet Explorer too.sander hoogendijk wrote:maybe you should delete the forum cookies.

Like i say, if I try to move back to the last page viewed using Explorer's back button I can see the page, but I've been logged out. So I could continue to read posts etc, but if I want to post anything new I need to log back in.
yes you might have a setting wrong in internet explorer, but cant tell you which setting is wrong.try googleCpt Custom wrote:Sander, I'm using Internet Explorer 9 and running windows, but that's what I've been using ever since I joined the Register.
Interestingly, I have Google Chrome installed too although I never use it. However, I just gave it a spin to see what it would do when I'm on the forum and the back button on it does what I'd expect it to do without logging me out.
So the problem seems to be linked to using Internet Explorer. Does that help point you in any direction?
Need to consider this Sander ... will get back to you later.sander hoogendijk wrote:yes you might have a setting wrong in internet explorer, but cant tell you which setting is wrong.try google
Okay, now I think we're getting somewhere. I couldn't understand Sander how it could have anything to do with my settings as I personally never change them and it’s only been in the last few days I've had this problem.Cpt Custom wrote:Need to consider this Sander ... will get back to you later.sander hoogendijk wrote:yes you might have a setting wrong in internet explorer, but cant tell you which setting is wrong.try google
