As its looking unlikely that I will find a set of clocks that fit my car I am considering rewiring the plugs to fit a more common type ( MK2 Golf probably).
I've found a couple of guides that should prove useful, just wondered if anyone on here has done it before?

Re: Rewiring Instrument Cluster Plugs
Do you instruments have one connector or two? If it's 2 then any mk2 golf or rocco cluster should fit as far as I know. I've added wiring to mine for the MFA and stalk and don't remember it being particularly hard, I'll be finding out again soon as I need to add in a speed sensor feed for the ECU. A Haynes with wiring diagrams is a must though!

Re: Rewiring Instrument Cluster Plugs
Its got two but its not the same as all the other rocco ones as I found out after returning home with a set to replace mine with. Turns out up until 83 they were different. One plug is half the size of the other.
Weirdly the bits that stopped woking after I swapped the temp gauge out of another set started working again today. I'm sure they have a mind of their own.

RIght, Ive sourced some clocks from an 88 8V golf GTi, picking them up this week and will try fitting them soon.
